As the holiday season begins, it’s easy to focus on the big events—the Thanksgiving feast, the Christmas celebrations, and all the traditions in between. But lately, I’ve been thinking about the quiet spaces that surround them. The moments between the moments.
These are the pauses that don’t make it onto calendars or into photos: the slow morning after Thanksgiving, a shared laugh over an old holiday memory, or the quiet evening when the house smells faintly of cinnamon and pine. They’re subtle, but they hold their own kind of magic.
In these small spaces, there’s room to breathe. To notice the softness of a blanket, the way the light changes earlier each day, or the familiar comfort of a favorite holiday mug. They remind us that joy isn’t only found in the big gatherings—it’s woven gently through the in-between.
As we navigate the coming weeks, I’m reminding myself to look for these pauses and savor them. The season is richer, calmer, and more meaningful when we recognize the beauty tucked into the quiet edges. May your holidays be filled not only with wonderful celebrations, but with the tender, grounding moments that happen in between.
Warmly,
~Wendy
